Who am I?
My name is Hynek Kalista, and creation has been a constant companion throughout my life. When I graduated from a technical high school, my mother asked me, "What will you be?" I had only one answer: "I want to be a good person." This motto has guided me throughout my life and is reflected in the name of my company, HOMA BONA s.r.o., which translates to "good person." The second motto follows the previous question, but it came to me gradually.
As a civil engineer specializing in water management, I spent several years working on projects in nature, such as building ponds, hiking trails in the Krkonoš Mountains, and forest roads. Later, I worked as a cost estimator and project preparer at COLAS a.s. and also spent several years working at the LORD real estate agency.
Around 2007-2008, I began dedicating more time to my hobby, blacksmithing, which led to the birth of my first business.
With the rise of the handmade marketplace Fler, I began successfully selling my small handcrafted jewelry. This is when I created my first forged rings, which became very popular. With the increasing interest in wedding rings, another change came, and I founded the company KREDUM CZ s.r.o., focused on jewelry production, especially wedding rings. While living in Pecka, I simultaneously opened a bakery and café called Zlatá Pecka, which specializes in healthy treats, especially unique healthy ice cream.
In 2019, I left Pecka after a personal change. I passed on both the KREDUM company and the bakery to my former employees, who continue the work.
Now, I focus on small construction projects, having built the Glamping Camp Dolíček, and most importantly, I am returning to the roots of my true self — music and craftsmanship. This led to the idea of making rain columns.
I will conclude with the aforementioned second motto: "Whatever I have been, I was happy to be." ... builder, photographer, graphic designer, jeweler, blacksmith, carpenter, goldsmith, real estate agent, lathe operator... Well, I’m looking forward to what comes next.
